Furniture Music

Furniture Music borrows its title from Erik Satie’s musique d’ameublement, music written to belong to a room the way a chair or a lamp belongs to it, and which Satie famously begged his audiences not to listen to. This piece asks the opposite.

The table is the instrument. What you are hearing was drawn from its own resonances and returned to the room it came from.
